What is a pre-wedding shoot?
A pre-wedding shoot is arranged with the photographer and the couple to be married. It is a relatively inexpensive way to have a trial run with your photographer before booking them to cover your wedding day. A pre-wedding shoot is designed to create beautiful memories of your engagement, whilst also preparing you to take great, natural looking pictures on the big day.
Feeling confident in front of the camera
The main purpose of a pre-wedding shoot is to build the confidence of the couple in front of the lens and to create a good rapport with the photographer. The session should be fun, relaxing and the results should get rid of any anxiety about looking your best on the BIG day! I coach couples through a range of simple poses and techniques that make photos look natural, even when they are staged. From time to time the couple will even forget that I’m there!
Picturesque surroundings
Couples are advised to pick a picturesque location that is significant to them, or if preferred, the photographer can suggest locations that provide the perfect backdrop to their photos. I like to shoot in central London, including iconography that represents London, red phone boxes, Black taxi’s Edwardian building etc. Clients are advised to dress for an evening out (“Out, out!”) and often use the opportunity to go out for the evening after their photos.
Memories to cherish
Following the shoot, clients receive their best photos in high resolution. They are left with a beautiful keepsake to look back on in the years to come, that can be printed and used for save the date cards, framed prints, guest book covers, social media and much more.
